Miley Cyrus’ commitment to her dogs is well known, but seems her newest doggy friend is having a very special impact on the star.
The 21-year-old stepped out in New York on Friday with her new Rough Collie, Emu, and the pair seem to be taking style tips from one another.

The normally platinum blonde star’s hair looked decidedly more orange than usual, almost as if she meant to match with the pup’s fluffy rust coat.
Emu came into the singer’s life in June after her beloved do Floyd passed away in April.
Shortly after the dog’s death, the Wrecking Ball star fell ill and was forced to cancel a number of concerts including her performance in New Jersey.

So it was only fitting Emu came with her to the East Coast to see her perform Friday night at the rescheduled gig at the Nassau Coliseum, as a symbol of Miley being healthy again.
Heading to the gig from her New York hotel, The Hannah Montana star held on to her precious bundle of furry joy as she walked through the crowd of fans gathered to see her.
For her trip to the concert, the 21-year-old donned a pair of cut off denim shorts that were so ripped her upper legs were exposed with a retro red and maroon silk Chinese-inspired shirt.

Clearly Emu does not just affect Miley’s hair colouring but also her mood, as despite a big performance ahead of her and screaming fans around her she looked cool, calm and collected as she headed to her waiting car.
Following Floyd’s death the star decided to memorialise her constant companion by getting a tattoo of him on her ribcage.

When the pop star first revealed she had a new dog she took to Instagram to tell fans: ‘I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago. Been keepin him a secret cause sometimes I’m weird like that [sic].
‘It’s taken some time to be ready for this next step and loving again. There will never be anyone like Floyd. There was a bond that was so deep it’s irreplaceable but that’s not what I am trying to do. Never will I replace
‘Floyd and that’s something I had to take time to understand.’
